Who is Blue Heron Marine? |

Heron Marine was founded by Al Carlson in 2002 to supply a solution to
the problem of fatigue experienced by long-distance sailors standing
long watches. Al is a retired engineer with decades of experience
in different manufacturing industries.
Al developed the first Helmseat for personal use on a long cruise on his Catalina 36 in early 2002. His goal was to solve the fatigue problem, and also improve the visibility of shorter sailors, when seated at the helm. Al and his wife have logged over 1100 miles with that very first Helmseat. Blue Heron Marine is a small manufacturing operation located on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Blue Heron is dedicated to achieving top customer satisfaction with the Helmseat. Our motto is "The customer is the boss and he deserves more than he thought he paid for." Our goal is for all our customers to be pleasantly surprised by their transaction with Blue Heron Marine.
