THIS
IS THE HELMSEAT! |
|
| The
Helmseat clamps to the stern rails at the aft end of the Catalina cockpit -- on
each side of the swim ladder. The swim ladder remains free to be
lowered or raised.
The Helmseat has two legs which sit on the factory-supplied cockpit seat directly behind the helm. The height of the Helmseat is about the same as the factory-supplied stern-rail seats on each side of the boat. This allows a helmsman to be seated comfortably at the helm, yet keep his head at about the same height as if he were standing. PLEASE

The seat is supported by two clamps to the middle bar of the stern rail plus two feet sitting on the cockpit shelf. If you prefer to sail without the removable shelf, the Helmseat can be supplied with longer legs which extend down to the deck. | |
| The seat frame clamps to the stern rail in such a way as to dodge around the swim ladder, so the ladder is free to be raised or lowered without removing the Helmseat. | ![]() |

Isn't it time for some
real comfort at the helm? Isn't it time for some better visibility
at the helm?
And for those long trips, for those dog watches in the early morning hours before sunrise: you can sit -- yet you can see all your instruments! |

| Stowage? When you are anchored, not using Helmseat, and want your walk-through stern open, just fold the seat-top and hang the Helmseat anywhere off the lifelines. The seat's rail clamps will work on upper or lower rail, or steel cable. Take the legs off, and you can tuck it away in the lazarette. |
