MAKE  THREE  MEASUREMENTS
(TO  INSURE  A  GREAT  FIT)

WHY MEASURE?

There will always be a certain variability in the exact position of the rear cockpit rails and the helm pedestal on most Catalinas.

If you make three measurements on your boat, I will customize the Helmseat I ship to you to insure a perfect fit at no extra charge.

Make a hardcopy of this page to take to your boat.  You will write your measurements on this page.

Follow the three steps described below to measure for your Helmseat.

MEASUREMENT ONE
(seat span)

At the rear of the cockpit, measure the distance across the swim ladder opening at the height of the middle fixed rail.  Measure from the left-hand edge of the left-hand vertical fixed rail, to the right-hand edge of the right-hand vertical fixed rail, as shown in the photo.  Your measurement should be in the range of 26 to 29-3/4 inches.  (In the photo, the measurement is 28-3/4 inches.)

MEASUREMENT TWO
(mid-rail height)

Measure the height of the middle fixed rail at the rear of the cockpit.  This is not the rail on the swim ladder, but the middle fixed horizontal rail next to the swim ladder.  Measure the distance from the hard fiberglass cockpit seat to the center of the middle horizontal rail, as shown.  Your measurement should be in the range of 16 to 19 inches. (The measurement in the photo is 16-1/2 inches.)

MEASUREMENT THREE
(wheel distance)

Measure the distance from the center of the helm-wheel hub, straight aft to the nearest swim-ladder step, with the swim ladder in the "up and locked" position.  The tape measure should be approximately horizontal.  Measure to the inside edge of the stainless steel rail portion of the swim ladder step.  Again, record your measurement.  (In the photo, the measurement is 29-1/2 inches).
